How do I find a registered agent near me?

Does the ZIP code of my business matter?
Only to show which state you are in. The agent’s office must be in the state of formation; your own ZIP does not change who can serve as agent.
Why is there no page for my ZIP code?
Registered agent rules are set by the state, not the ZIP code. The same rule applies in every ZIP of a state, so a page per ZIP would repeat the state page.
Do I need an agent in the state where I live?
Only if your company is formed or registered there. A company formed in one state while you live in another needs an agent in the formation state. See which state’s agent you need.
Can I be my own registered agent?
In many states yes, if you have a street address in the state and are available during business hours. Each state page spells out who qualifies.
